Tool rental across the US
Rent Power Tools from neighbors near you
Most power tools spend their life in a box on a shelf. You buy a circular saw for one deck, use it a weekend, and it sits for three years. ToolShed lets you rent the drill, saw, or sander from a neighbor who already owns it, use it for the job, and hand it back. No storage, no buyer's remorse, no $200 tool for a two-hour cut.
Power Tools you can rent nearby
A sample of what neighbors list. Availability depends on who's near you.
Cordless drills
For hanging shelves, assembling furniture, or driving a few hundred deck screws.
Circular saws
Rip plywood and cut framing lumber without buying a saw for one project.
Impact drivers
The tool that drives long lag bolts and deck screws without stripping them.
Angle grinders
Cut rebar, tile, or a rusted bolt, then hand it back.
Orbital sanders
Smooth a tabletop or strip a door without the sanding-by-hand misery.
Why rent instead of buy?
A decent circular saw runs a couple hundred dollars new, plus blades, plus somewhere to keep it. If you use it once a year, renting from a neighbor costs a fraction of that and skips the storage. You get the right tool for the job instead of forcing it with the wrong one, and the tool goes back to someone who actually uses it.

Power Tools rental FAQ
How much does it cost to rent a power tool?
Owners set their own daily rates, so pricing depends on the tool and where you are. You see the full price, including the service fee and any refundable deposit, before you confirm. Browsing is free and there is no membership.
Is it covered if something breaks?
Every rental is backed by ToolShed's damage protection, up to $500 per rental. If a tool is damaged while you have it, you file a claim in the app with photos and our team reviews it. It is a limited damage guarantee, not insurance. Read how protection works for the full details. See how protection works
How do I pick up the tool?
Message the owner in the app to set a time and place, usually their driveway or a nearby public spot. Inspect the tool at pickup, use it for your rental window, and return it the same way.
Do power tools come with batteries and blades?
Listings say what's included. Most cordless tools come with at least one charged battery, and many owners throw in common blades or bits. If you need a specific blade or size, message the owner before you book.
